Las Vegas is one of my favourite places to go and visit. This is probably because I secretly love to gamble. But despite the city having a seedy reputation it is full of great things to see and do. And they don't all revolve around casinos.
Go and see the Las Vegas sign
While in LV you have to see the famous sign! It is like a rite of passage. The Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign is a Las Vegas landmark funded in May 1959 and erected soon after by Western Neon.
The sign is located in the median at 5100 Las Vegas Boulevard South, north of the historic stone pillars of the old McCarran Airport on the east side, and across from the Bali Hai Golf Club and the (closed) Klondike Hotel & Casino on the west side. Some consider the sign to be the official southern end of the Las Vegas Strip.
Play on the slot machines in a casino
No trip would be complete to vegas without playing at least a few dollars in the slot machines.
There are 104 casinos in Vegas. You definitely won't have a problem finding a slot machine.
Pee on the Berlin Wall
If you go to the Main Street Station men's toilets, you can find some urinals that have parts of the Berlin Wall there. Apparently women are sometimes allowed in to see it.
Hire a helicopter and go for a ride over the strip.
You can hire helicopters for 15-30 minutes, fly over the strip and gaze at its bright lifhts. I recommend doing this in the evening.
Shoot some guns
There are some nice shooting ranges in Las Vegas. They cater to tourists, so don't worry if you've never even held a gun before.
Get married in Las Vegas
Lots of people do it. Go and get Elvis as your minister!
See the Pawn Stars pawn shop
If you like the TV show "Pawn Stars" then go and visit the actual shop. Over 4,000 people visit it every day, so don't think you will be the only one there. But it can be interesting to see!
Go and find a pool party!
There are tons of pool parties (probably going on right now, as we speak!). One of the famous ones is the Rehab at the Hard Rock casino. Check it out!
